Cong Targets Modi above Lokayukta rejects to take charge

Justice RA Mehta declining to assume the office of Gujarat Lokayukta gave fresh Ammunition to Congress to target chief minister NarendraModi.

Congress leader Digvijay Singh asked why and what Modi was "scared" of as Justice Mehta declined to assume office, slamming the state government for opposing his appointment. "Justice Mehta declines Lokayukta post in Gujarat Stating that Gujarat govt damaged his credibility. Why is Modi scared of Lokayukta in Gujarat," Singh tweeted.

He said Gujarat remained without a Lokayukta ever since Modi came to power. "Is there a forum in Gujarat where cases of corruption can be taken up," he said.

Claiming that Gujarat government spent Rs 45 crore as legal expenses in thwarting Justice Mehta's appointment, the Congress leader said, "If Modi is honest, what is he scared of?"

Party spokesman Raj Babbar said the wind blowing from Gujarat was saying that there was "no space for any counter view there".

"If a judge is saying this, there is indeed a need to understand what this wind blowing from Gujarat is. This wind relates to that politician of Gujarat, who wants to say that whatever has happened in Gujarat is due to him. And Justice Mehta has made it clear what all is happening in the state due to that person," Babbar said.

15 August Independence Day

Request All My Of My Friends, Please Read Carefully

Judgment BJP in Madhya Pradesh on Monday Accused the opposition Congress of Adopting "Dirty Tricks" to malign its image by raising the issue of two of its ministers whose names found mention in a diary seized by Income Tax Authorities from the premises of two mining barons.

Congress has demanded resignation of MP Public Relations and Culture Minister Laxmikant Sharma and Energy and Mining Minister Rajendra Shukla after their names found declare in a diary seized from the residence of the two businessmen associated with the ruling BJP.

Rejecting the demand, Madhya Pradesh BJP president Narendra Singh Tomar and MP Industries Minister Kailash Vijaywargiya said various rulings by Income Tax authorities and the Supreme Court judgement in Jain hawala case clearly stated that enteries in a diary cannot be treated as evidence against the accused.

They Also Asked Leader of the Opposition Ajay Singh, who raised the issue, if then Congress chief minister Digvijay Singh and excise minister, whose names were also allegedly found in a diary seized from a liquor baron's house by Income Tax authorities, had resigned from their posts.

"Since Congress has No Issues against BJP Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, its dirty tricks department has devised a plan to harmful the MP government's image by raising Such Baseless issues and misusing central agencies like Income Tax and CBI to gain Political mileage in a poll-bound state, like it had done in Gujarat and other Places," the BJP Alleged.

"BJP strongly condemns these acts of the Congress and blamed Congress president Sonia Gandhi's political advisor Ahmed Patel and Congress general secretary in-charge of Madhya Pradesh Mohan Prakash for it," Vijaywargiya said.

"There is no iota of truth in these allegations and this will be proved during investigations," he said.

Congress MP Vilas Muttemwar Demands Statehood for Vidarbha

NEW DELHI: Among Assumption that the Congress Working Committee (CWC) could accede to the Demand for Telangana, a Congress MP has asked party Chief Sonia Gandhi to Consider a Separate state for Vidarba.

Vilas Muttemwar, Congress MP from Nagpur, told IANS Tuesday that he has written to Sonia Gandhi demanding that the party leadership consider demand for a divide state of Vidarbha out of Maharashtra.

"The demand of Statehood for Vidarbha is stronger and older than Telangana," Muttemwar, a seven-time member of the Lok Sabha, told IANS.

He said that the First State Reorganisation commission had made a recommendation for Vidarbha statehood but the then leadership in the region decided to join Maharashtra, following "intervention of the then party high command and guarantee that their interests will be sheltered".

He Said there was a Controversy over the status of the Planned capital of Telangana but there were no issues about a Capital for Vidarbha.

He said they were demanding creation of Vidarbha state by including 11 districts of Maharashtra. Vidarbha region holds 21.3 percent of the total population of Maharashtra.

About Congress

Azad met Jawahar Lal Nehru in the early morning of 27 February 1931 at his residence Anand Bhawan in Allahabad and held talks with him. Nehru and Azad had heated arguments and Nehru asked Azad to leave his place. A furious Azad left immediatel y.

From Anand Bhawan (Nehru's residence) he went to the Alfred Park on his bicycle. Soon thereafter , close to 1000 policemen surrounded the park ( They must have got a tip-off from the sky ). After 5 hours of bullet fight, Chandra Shekhar Azad shot himself using his last bullet, keeping his pledge to never be captured alive.
The Indian congress Party is a major political party in India. It is the largest and oldest democratic political party in the world. The party's modern liberal platform is largely considered center-left in Indian political spectrum.

Founded in 1885 by Allan Octavian Hume, Dadabhai Naoroji, Dinshaw Wacha, Womesh Chandra Bonnerjee, Surendranath Banerjee, Monomohun Ghose, Mahadev Govind Ranade and William Wedderburn, the Indian National Congress became the leader of the Indian Independence Movement, with over 15 million members and over 70 million participants in its struggle against British rule in India. After independence in 1947, it became the nation's dominant political party.

The history of the Indian National Congress falls into two distinct eras:

The pre-independence era, when the party was at the forefront of the struggle for independence and was instrumental in the whole of India;

The post-independence era, when the party has enjoyed a prominent place in Indian politics, ruling the country for 48 of the 60 years since independence in 1947.

In the Pre-independence era, the congress was Divided in two groups, moderate and activist. The moderates were more educated and wanted to win people's faith to lead the nation to independence without bloodshed.the activists however wanted to follow a revolutionary path and make it a militant organization.
